Just arrived from Africa. original Carcano M. 1891 rifles. The rifles are in poor to fair condition. All of them are original and were left in Ethiopia when the Italian forces were kicked out of the country in the early 1940s. Please see detailed pictures. These rifles have not been on the US market for decades. A true find of history!
These C Grade Carcanos are in poor to fair condition overall. The rifles may have some missing parts such as a sling swivel, upper handguard, barrel band and/or buttplate screw, etc. The guns have seen extensive combat. Stocks may have dents, dings, scratches, gouges, and show signs of handling and storage. May have some cracks in the stock and/or chunks of the stock missing. Cracks are usually in the wrist. Upper handguard will have cracks if the handguard is included. May have an Ethiopian replacement stock or handguard. These rifles are used and show their history. These rifles are great for a restoration project or parts gun. These are military rifles which have served in WW1, Italy and finally in Ethiopia. You can expect some battle scars and wear. No hand select bore option for C grade Carcano Rifles.
The rifles have varies degrees of finish. Some guns have excessive wear, some have up to 30% of original finish.
Some stocks may possibly have trench art (field carvings).
Others may have some silver thumb tacks resembling a cross. Remember that Ethiopia’s population is 50% Christian and 50% Muslim.

Mine wasn’t in real bad shape. The follower spring was missing, a big chunk of the stock by the toe had been repaired and very loose. Also missing the top handguard. The bore looked very bad however after cleaning really well it shot really good with my correct 268 diameter handloads!! Got a reproduction top handguard and follower spring for it and it looks really good and shoots well.
