Swiss Schmidt Rubin 1889 Rifles, Caliber 7.5×53.5 Swiss, All Matching Numbers Antiques!
We just received a new shipment of Swiss Schmidt Rubin 1889 Rifles directly from Switzerland! The overall condition is generally good to very good, bores range from very good to excellent. The rifles are 100% complete, functional and we do test the firing pin functionality before shipping. These particular rifles in this listing are numbers matching on the receiver, barrel, bolt, and magazine. The metal finish may have some light to medium wear but much of the original bluing remains on these rifles. There may be some very light surface rust which can be easily removed using oil and steel wool if needed. The stocks are in good condition, but they will have handling wear, dings, dents, scratches, etc. The stocks will not have large cracks, but may have a very small crack near the rear of the receiver. Please note the charging handle may also have a crack and/or is missing pieces of the handle. Please keep in mind that while the Swiss did keep very good care of their guns, they also did use them often and these rifles are over a century old. The upper handguards are also in good shape with no major damage, only handling wear and possibly a small split, although this is uncommon. Please note many of these rifles have various stickers from shooting events, these stickers can be removed if desired. These are the very last of our 1889s, get one while you can!
SAFETY WARNING: Please note the 1889 Schmidt Rubin Rifles are not designed to fire & handle the pressure of the more modern 7.5×55 GP11 cartridge. Received mine yesterday, 12/18/23. Rifle is near perfect for its age. Only a few scratches on the wood. Bore light reveals a very bright barrel- looks like it was cleaned just before it was shipped. Serial numbers indicates 1892 manufacture date and about 1/2 way through the run.

Superb quality rifle with amazing bore, metal finish, wood, markings including stock cartouches and a butter smooth straight pull action. Cleaned up pretty easy. Without a doubt a true Swiss classic.
