We have for sale 1 Gewehr 88 rifle in original condition made by the Erfurt Arsenal in 1890. The rifle is in fair to good condition and functional. The stock on this example is in good condition  The rear sight is missing it’s slider on this example. All of the markings are present but some are worn such as the receiver crest (please see photos above). This particular gun is not “S” marked for the spitzer cartridge (modern 8×57 Mauser), it remains in the original 8×57 round nose cartridge chambering. This rifle unfortunately has a poor bore with no rifling. It does not have Ethiopian Amharic markings on the receiver. The front sight base is broken and the rear part of the base is missing. There is some surface finish wear/patina on the rifle, but otherwise the rifle just needs a good cleaning and repairs to be ready to shoot.
