6 reviews for Enfield No 1 Mk 3 Cal. 303 – B GRADE w/o bolt

I bought this rifle believing I could restore it. The rifle I received has a broken receiver that makes it physically impossible to insert a bolt. Nowhere in the description did it list this as a possibility. I am incredibly angry with the garbage I received.

I bought two of these thinking I would get a whole rifle. They both came with no safety lever, and between the two I got one good forend and one good butt stock. Luckily I had a bunch of Enfield parts around and was able to make one whole rifle. One of the bores was shot out and in poor condition, the other was serviceable. The cool part was the one that had a good bore was a 1941 BSA Dispersal Rifle. These are not in great condition but if you have a bolt and parts laying around you might have a chance.

I just received mine, it has a small chunk missing from where the bolt handle site and there’s no magazine, otherwise the rifle is awesome shape. All the pieces are there, the bore has lots of rifling left – haven’t cleaned it yet. I’m super happy with the purchase. It’s going to be a project to restore but that’s why I bought it.

Edited review, the first rifle I received was nice aesthetically but is not capable of functioning. The two rifles I have received since (1914 Iraqi marked BSA and a 53 Ishapore) can both be brought back to life with some work which is all I ask for.

Received in Sept 2024, I am very happy with what I received. 1914 BSA with matching receiver, barrel, and some other parts. Good rifling and most of the bluing on the barrel is intact. Complete beside bolt and mag as noted. Also missing stock disk.
Problems:
A little light surface rust in some area but nothing oil and 0000 steel wool can’t fix.
A nail through the barrel band I had to cut with a dremel and will need to replace.
Forend has numerous problems, a major crack along the bottom and several other pieces trying to split off along the mag well.
Front hand guard is missing one of the prongs and has a crack.
Rear hand guard has a previous arsenal repair and has a small crack.
Buttstock mostly fine but with one 1/2in chip trying to break off on the top behind the receiver.
Most of the woold damage can probably be repaired with acraglass except the missing prong.

Got my Lee Enfield number one Mark III the other day! It is beautiful although it looked like a greaseball when I got it some hot water and find steel wool took care of all of the grunge and rust and it looks just great! The metal retains much of its original Deep Bluing and the wood is sound a few things dents and cracks but just minor and all repairable! The boar is dark but has strong rifling after cleaning with a strong solvent! I got a appropriate Bolt online for less than I expected! Customer service was great and kept me updated on the whereabouts of my order! I have ordered a few other items in the past and have always been pleased with the service I get from Royal tiger
